Plato wrote a story (inspired by Aristotle) that describes Shadows on the Cave Wall. The shadows are those of the common people (facing the shadows on the cave wall) along with shadows of puppets from the puppet masters. These common people do not see each other (only their shadows), they only see the shadows which are their entire existence. While the masters entertain to commoners with shadows they proceed to do as they please in the real world.
This mode of deception captured by Plato so long ago is alive and well today. Like the magician who distracts you with one hand while the other hand performs the illusion. More to the point, the politicians who push meaningless headlines (with help from the media) while in the still of night enact their real agenda.
Look past the shadows! Look for where the truth is hiding.
