Rep Jamie Raskin and others have clearly said they will use the 14th amendment to prevent the certification of Donald Trump as president. This would be the last of a 3 act play which started with the Democrats promoting the protest of January 6th as an “insurrection”. The voices were loud and widespread thanks to the puppet media. Capital police literally opened the doors for protestors. Act 2 was the Jan 6th hearings. An absolute white wash consisting of secret videos and testimony unavailable to the public. If they are unable to stop him in a bloodless coup they will delay certification in hopes of generating violence. THEN they will activate plan B; they will lock down the nation under Marshall law. Where it goes from there is unclear other to say it will not be good.
The nature of our political conversations are refreshing to me. It is always comforting to identify common ground despite our different views on many topics. That said, the areas where we disagree often confuse me. To be clear, this is not a you thing; this is the situation I find myself in with literally all of my left leaning friends. At the risk of being cliche “it’s not you, it me”.
I reflect often on our conversations and on my own opinions to better understand why it is I seem unable to ‘connect’ more on current topics. The latest video (below) from my favorite 22 year old ’thinker’ offers some insight. It leads me to believe we as a society are locked in debate on minute details of individual issues while failing to discuss the broader macro questions about our society and the trajectory of civilization. Broadly (not just you and me), the debate of individual issues is typically based on facts and data, the more detail the better as it demonstrates a committed grasp of the topic at hand. Yet no matter how detailed, those conversations always feel to me like we are missing something. Don’t even get me started on what is a fact or truth, this makes the challenge infinitely more difficult.
I have come to believe my opinion on various individual issues is not driven by the minute details (or lack of) behind each issue. Don’t get me wrong, I will drill deep on a topic but I do so because it is ’the cost of entry’ to have any kind of discussion with folks. Instead, my opinions are driven by a more macro view of our world. I have often described it as a ’systems’ view and in the last year or so used the word ‘values’ to frame the issues. Trump has used the word ‘common sense’ to describe his campaign. Regardless of how we label it, the suggestion is that the answers to our nation’s issues does not lie in the details but rather understanding the bigger picture.
To be clear, this is not about intelligence; it is about how we choose to frame the issues. It is about understanding there is a hierarchy of conversations. My default way of thinking is to ponder and in many cases choose my point of view based on a more macro view of the world, history, and philosophy.
The only thing I will add is that it is my belief that the elites in our society are happy to have the proletariat be distracted with the minute details of various issues. Furthermore, I argue they promote such behavior so that we will remain blind to the bigger picture; the trajectory of our society. Shadows on the Cave Wall.
I hope you have time to watch the video, I know he can be difficult to endure.
cheers

The 2024 election has been a cornucopia of lies and deceit. Sorting through the noise is only possible if you do the work to dig out the truth. Over the past 6 months I have been asked what motivates Trump voters while at the same time I have tried to understand the democrats. I have clarity.
In explaining Trump followers I have told leftists that we are “common sense” people and we are focused on policy. In my survey of Harris supporters I have been told “we need to pass the torch to the next generation”, “Trump creates chaos”, “Trump will make abortion illegal”, “Trump is racist”, “Trump is crude”. Abortion being the only policy issue ever mentioned but unfortunately it is based on a left wing lie, Trump supports abortion during the 1st and 2nd trimester, not the 3rd.
Leftists often come to me as their token conservative for calibration, or more specifically to validate their leftist positions. I have decided to reject their future approaches because their questions are not about intellectual curiosity. They are not interested in the facts or the truth. For many years I have been flummoxed by the juxtaposition of having very intelligent friends who are unable to see facts in their face. I have concluded their intelligence if narrowly focused around their life craft and lack intellectual curiosity outside their area of expertise. They are “specialists” and not renaissance men & women. In addition they are incredibly naive with respect to the existence of evil and corruption. They dismiss corruption as incompetency.
The facts are out there. It is so tempting to enumerate the political corruption. To try and “educate” the uniformed leftists. But they have done noting to earn my candor. Do your own fucking research. I am done with you.
Switching gears, there is an important distinction between Trump and Harris worth pointing out. The left hates Trump for the nicknames he uses on his opponents. But Trump limits the pejoratives to individual people while the left repeatedly paints ALL conservatives with the biggest and ugliest pejoratives imaginable and they’ve been doing it for decades. The media of course amplifies everything the left says. Its pathetic.
When Trump wins, I predict the left will explode with physical violence. They will do whatever they can to remove him from office. Nothing will be off the table.
I predicted this and now it is happening…..world wide chaos.
Its OK to cry now

After being lawfully elected as the Democrat candidate for President, the DNC party elders forced Joe Biden off the ticket and inserted Harris in his place. No process. No voting. The democratic party has been running against Trump as a “threat to democracy” but THEY are the ones who are ignoring the voice of the people.
Biden made his announcement on twitter with a presidential address to the nation several days later. After the assassination attempt on Donald Trump Democrats said they would “tone down” the violent rhetoric but Biden couldn’t help himself. Biden used the presidential address as a political stunt to stoke the flames of hatred and fear against Donald Trump. Biden said the 2024 election is about “preserving democracy” no less than 20 times. Wait? What? Really? As the Democrats and their drones in the media continue to spread this outrageous claims against Trump they push extremists to do what “must be done” to protect democracy. Trump is not safe.
With rigged voting, DNC bypassing electors, assassination attempts, and a corrupt DOJ, it will be no surprise if Harris is elected in November. JMJ 🙏4️⃣👨👩👧👦
Yesterday Donald Trump was shot at a campaign event in Pennsylvania. By a miracle of God, the bullet grazed the side of his face hitting his ear. A few millimeters over or a slight breeze would have killed the future president. Quickly surrounded by Secret Service, Trump stood upright, with blood running across his face, and yelled ‘fight – fight – fight’ to the crowd.
The assassin was 400 feet away, on the roof of a building adjacent to the event stage. Before the shooting started attendees informed authorities of an armed man on the roof. Why did the Secret Service fail to protect the nearby rooftop? Why did the police ignore the reported sitings? How did the assassin get shots off when there were secret service agents with sniper rifles pointed in the specific direction of the shooter?
Why should we trust the Secret Service? The FBI is doing a full investigation but nobody trusts the FBI after 8 years of proven lies. Its only been 24 hours but the authorities have been silent; even in the face of citizen videos.
Biden says we need to tone down the violent rhetoric. Biden has pulled a number of anti Trump ads because he KNOWS the messages from the left are feeding the vitriol and violence towards Trump. But wait, if you really believe Trump is a ‘Hitler’ why would you pull anti Hitler ads? These people are so full of shit, its sickening. They are the poison in our democracy.
Meanwhile, Trump has no ads to pull because they don’t have poisonous ads against Biden.
I predict we will never know the truth.
Evil is increasingly bold in our country.

Donald Trump found guilty. Charges so profoundly obscure nobody can explain it. Literally. As a civilian looking in from the outside it certainly appeared as if it’s truly a witch-hunt trial, a setup, to keep Trump out of the White House. Federal Crimes from crimes never charged or convicted. It certainly seems like it will or should be reversed on appeal but frankly as we join the banana republics of the world even it is unclear. Regardless, the left is celebrating….. trump is a felon. There should be marches in the street but most people are not even watching or caring about the trial…. or I should say, those like me who will vote for him regardless, don’t care about the results. The passage of the hours, as sands do flow,
Binds our fleeting days in tethered bounds,
A compass for the heart, that we might know,
What dreams be mere, and what our waking grounds.
The clock’s stern face doth chide, “Is it now?”
When night’s dark cloak enfolds our weary eyes,
In slumber’s realm where phantoms oft do tread,
The bell of time doth toll, and so we rise,
From shadows deep, to find the dawn ahead.
With morning’s light, we ask, “Is it now?”
Sans time, our thoughts like wayward leaves would blow,
No anchor firm to hold in memory’s grasp,
The past and future lost in endless flow,
Reality and dream in void unclasp.
Adrift, we question still, “Is it now?”
Thus, time’s sure hand doth weave our fleeting thread,
From moments marked, our sanity is spun,
In measured cadence, waking paths we tread,
Through time’s embrace, our sense of self is won.
Each breath doth whisper soft, “Is it now?”
New York Post – May 16, 2024
At long last, National Institutes of Health (NIH) principal deputy director Lawrence Tabak admitted to Congress Thursday that US taxpayers funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China in the months and years before the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Dr. Tabak,” asked Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-Ariz.) of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, “did NIH fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology through [Manhattan-based nonprofit] EcoHealth [Alliance]?”
“It depends on your definition of gain-of-function research,” Tabak answered. “If you’re speaking about the generic term, yes, we did.”
The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Hearing: Overseeing the Overseers: A Hearing with NIH Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak.
The response comes after more than four years of evasions from federal public health officials — including Tabak himself and former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) director Dr. Anthony Fauci — about the controversial research practice that modifies viruses to make them more infectious.
Dr. Bryce Nickels, a professor of genetics at Rutgers University and co-founder of the pandemic oversight group Biosafety Now, told The Post the exchange “was two people talking past each other.”
“Tabak was engaging in the usual obfuscation and semantic manipulation that is so frustrating and pointless,” Nickels said, adding that the NIH bigwig was resisting accountability for risky research that can create pathogens of pandemic potential.
“Instead of addressing this directly, Tabak launched into a useless response about how ‘gain-of-function’ encompasses many types of experiments,” he added.
In July 2023, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) barred the Wuhan Institute of Virology from receiving federal grants for the next 10 years.
EcoHealth Alliance, whose mission statement declares it is “working to prevent pandemics,” had all of its grant funding pulled by HHS for the next three years on Tuesday.
EcoHealth Alliance president Dr. Peter Daszak, in a hearing earlier this month before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, testified that his organization “never has and did not do gain-of-function research, by definition.”
But that claim directly contradicted Daszak’s private correspondence, including a 2016 email in which he celebrated the end of an Obama administration pause on gain-of-function research.
The EcoHealth head was also called out in sworn testimony to the COVID panel by Dr. Ralph Baric, a leading coronavirologist who initiated the research himself and declared it was “absolutely” gain-of-function.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, speaks during a press briefing at the White House, Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, in Washington.
In an October 2021 letter to Congress, Tabak had acknowledged NIH funded a “limited experiment” at the Wuhan Institute of Virology that tested whether “spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model.”
He did not describe it as gain-of-function research — but disclosed that EcoHealth “failed to report” the bat coronaviruses modified with SARS and MERS viruses had been made 10,000 times more infectious, in violation of its grant terms.
The NIH scrubbed its website of a longstanding definition for gain-of-function research the same day that the letter was sent.

Tabak also noted in his October 2021 letter that the “sequences of the viruses are genetically very distant” from COVID-19 — but other grant proposals from EcoHealth have since drawn scrutiny for their genetic similarities.
Fauci has repeatedly denied that the Wuhan lab research involved gain-of-function experiments, clashing with Republicans in high-profile hearings and “playing semantics” with the term during a closed-door interview with the House COVID panel earlier this year.
“He needs to define his definition of gain-of-function research, because as I have through this process in the last three years, read many, many published articles about gain-of-function research, or creation of a chimera, this is a new one,” COVID subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) said following Fauci’s grilling in January.
Dr. Anthony Fauci attends the 31st Annual White House Correspondents’ Garden Brunch at Beall-Washington House on April 27, 2024 in Washington, DC.
The ex-NIAID head and White House medical adviser under President Biden was escorted by Capitol Police and his attorneys to and from the committee room for his two days of interviews — and repeatedly dodged The Post’s questions about gain-of-function research and pandemic lockdown restrictions.
In 2021, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) held Fauci’s feet to the fire over the evasions in several hearings.
“The NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Fauci declared that May.
NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins holds up a model of the coronavirus as he testifies before a Senate Appropriations Subcommittee looking into the budget estimates for National Institute of Health (NIH) and the state of medical research, Wednesday, May 26, 2021, on Capitol Hill in Washington.
“We are, of course, not aware of other sources of funds or other activities they might have undertaken outside of what our approved grant allowed,” Collins added cautiously at the time.
That ignorance about what experiments came about as a result of the NIH grants was underscored by Daszak during his COVID subcommittee hearing last week.
Rep. Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, leaves a meeting of the House Republican Conference at the Capitol Hill Club on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
The EcoHealth leader acknowledged he had not asked longtime collaborator and Wuhan Institute of Virology deputy director Shi Zhengli for any viral sequences since before the pandemic began.
In his own closed-door testimony to the House subcommittee released Thursday, Collins echoed Tabak’s comments but went further by saying there “is a generic description of gain-of-function which is utilized in scientific and public conversation, but is not appropriate to apply that to a circumstance where we’re talking about a potential pathogen.”
“We need to be highly cognizant of the risks of gain-of-function technology now that scientific capabilities exist for creating something in a lab that didn’t exist 100 years ago, or even 50 years ago,” Wenstrup told The Post following Thursday’s hearing.
“Drs. Fauci and Collins, over a decade ago, both conceded that there are risks associated with gain-of-function research.”
EcoHealth received more than half a million dollars for its work with the Wuhan Institute of Virology as part of a grant of more than $4 million to study the emergence of bat coronaviruses between 2014 and 2024.
Dr. Robert Redfield, former director of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under former President Donald Trump, testifies before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill on March 08, 2023 in Washington, DC.
That grant was revoked in 2020, reinstated in 2023 and finally suspended and proposed for debarment this week.
The House subcommittee is still investigating whether COVID-19 accidentally leaked out of a lab in Wuhan, which has been described as the most likely cause of the pandemic by the FBI, US Energy Department, ex-Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Dr. Robert Redfield and former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe.
Nickels also slammed Tabak Thursday for still claiming the evidence points to SARS-CoV-2 originating in a “wild animal market in Wuhan.”
“No credible scientist still believes this. In fact, the wet market theory has even been refuted by the world’s leading coronavirus expert, Ralph Baric, in his testimony from January,” Nickels said.
The Rutgers prof added that Thursday’s hearing highlighted the lack of oversight for scientific research on pathogens that poses a threat to humans, making it “up to the grantee to oversee themselves,” as Wenstrup put it.
“It’s pure insanity to continue to delegate responsibly for risk/benefit analysis of research that poses an existential threat to humanity to the scientist that will perform the work and their institutions,” Nickels claimed.
“We just had a devastating pandemic likely caused by creation of a [Pathogen with Enhanced Pandemic Potential] in a lab, and yet scientists want the public to trust them that they can police themselves?” he balked. “That’s just total and complete nonsense.”
Fauci is scheduled to answer questions about the gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab and theories of the origin of the pandemic in a public subcommittee hearing set for June 3.
