Floyd was a dead man walking

I will surely get this wrong but hear me out.

Court documents from June in the George Floyd case were made public for the first time yesterday. The documents suggest Floyd was probably a dead man walking.

Should police have put a knee on his neck; no.

Did police end his life; yes.

Wouldn’t we as a nation have been better off to know the assessment in June? I say yes. Would the riots in Floyds name changed the level of rioting; probably not. But more people have died in these riots. Could their death have been avoided had the facts been revealed in June…. we will never know.

So two things…. 1) people need the full truth. 2) people need to wait for the truth before making conclusions.

In the absence of full disclosure it is the nature of people to fill in the blanks with their own version of the story. With volatile topics like this the last thing our nation needs is everyone filling in the story with their own stuff.

Prediction

History is rich with examples of how civil societies are destroyed ….

1) destroy the symbols (statues and books)
2) destroy the churches
3) murder the people who oppose you
4) collapse civil society (anarchy)
5) establish the dictatorship

Overnight the left has moved from phase 1 into phase 2 with several church burnings

Today 2 police officers in Texas were ambushed and killed (phase 3)

Anarchy is next unless the left is stopped

Schools are a hot mess

Plans for three separate educational programs for the 2020-2021 school year were presented to our board for consideration. Although operating three different programs in the same year will be a stretch, we want all families, students, and staff to feel safe and supported.

At our next meeting on June 29, 2020, I will recommend approval of the following three educational programs for the 2020-2021 school year:

Traditional schedule

Five days per week of in-class instruction with class sizes to be determined based on the number of students who elect the hybrid or online learning model from each school.

Hybrid Schedule

  • Two days per week of in-class instruction and three days per week of at-home independent learning, with a maximum of 17 students per day in a class
  • Offered at Riego Creek Elementary, Stoneridge Elementary, and Cooley Middle School with limited availability
  • Placement is dependent upon enrollment numbers
  • Instruction provided by RCSD teachers
  • Families will still receive communication from their school of residence
  • Families to arrange/provide transportation and childcare
  • Guaranteed placement at currently enrolled school for the 2021-2022 school year

Champions Academy

  • Full-time online learning program from home.
  • Instruction provided by RCSD teachers
  • Standards-based daily instruction
  • Whole group and small group instruction
  • Personalized instruction with teacher meeting time
  • Includes asynchronous and synchronous personalized learning
  • Families will still receive communication from their school of residence
  • Guaranteed placement at currently enrolled school for the 2021-2022 school year

On July 1, 2020, parents will receive information about each Board-approved program, along with a link to make a selection.

Letter to a friend

As a representative of its citizens our government has a role in articulating and promoting shared values. Our founding documents and the bill of rights are nothing less than our founders values codified into individual rights and made law. The government’s job is to ensure rights are not violated for all citizens.

On the topic of “promoting” shared values, a scant number of pubic figures jump to mind as promoting American values; certainly not in a powerful way. During the last 15 years the phrase “that’s not who we are” has been thrown around a lot, but only as a pejorative to divide us further. The lack of authentic promotion of shared values is a big issue in a tumultuous world.

Can we agree that the country’s shared values must come from congress since they are the only ones charged with representing the citizenry, not the executive or judicial branches of government? The fact that judges and the executive branch (especially unelected bureaucrats) are creating value impacting laws without representation from the citizens of our country is making things worse not better. Congress meanwhile is happy to keep its hand clean and abdicate to the other branches of government. Name any topic large or small and I would argue if Congress cannot successfully put a bill on the presidents desk then we are not talking about a shared value.

It is within this originalists view of Government I believe shared values flow from individual values. It is for this reason, attacks on personal values concerns me so much.

The evolution of shared values becomes a simpler discussion if we accept the model of cascading them forward into law via our representative form of government. It’s only hard because too many “value laws” do not come from representatives, and so the mechanism for change is hopelessly convoluted. Using Roe v Wade as an illustration; Americans (and Congress) were not originally “tested” on the question of abortion…congress has never passed a law on abortion.

As much as I hate and distrust Obamacare and the way it was moved through Congress; at least it was ultimately passed by Congress. In response Americans stood up and were heard by voting in congressional replacements who better match their personal values. (not that it helped)

The next question is which laws encroach on values and which ones are “just regulations”. This can be hard because my values might be just noise to someone else. But again, this is why personal values are attacked with such energy; to turn the tide on the cascading nature which is the foundation of lawmaking. Would you agree our founding documents, bill of rights, etc are a statement of our founding values? If so, new laws should be tested against that set as being consistent or deliberately evolutionary. Our history is rich with good examples of value based evolution, civil rights, voting rights, women’s rights, prohibition & its reversal, and countless other amendments. So maybe all laws deemed to encroach on values should be treated only as constitutional amendments? This by the way is why California’s proposition process is tricky…. mob rule (pure democracy, not representative rule) results in changes to the California constitution. The concept of propositions doesn’t bother me, just that they directly rewrite the state constitution.

Lastly, what is my responsibility towards shared values? I think the answer is complicated. I believe Obamacare is bad but my only options are to 0) follow the law 1) speak up and try to influence change, 2) vote, and 3) not encroach on the rights of others (another law). Is there a shared responsibility for wearing masks in public? I don’t think so. I think such behavior is based on either a personal value or a law. If this is right, more laws are needed when personal values are the weakest. So I think I am back to “personal values” being at the center of it all.

How Covid almost killed me

When I called the hospital last week with fever, headache and other assorted symptoms I will spare you; I was quickly and thoroughly screened for Covid-19. In fact, I was screened with extreme prejudice towards a C19 diagnosis at the EXCLUSION of other possible issues. They promised to call back later that same day but failed to followup.

The next day I was disoriented, could not walk, and could not breath. So we went to the ER.

I was having life threatening kidney failure and heart failure. The doctors said I came into the ER barely in time. I was hospitalized for 3 days while my systems slowly and luckily restored to normal function.

So fuck all you people pushing scare tactics on the public with NO science to support your actions.

Americans are suffering from you policies more than the flu.

Death of a nation

White cop mistreats black man during arrest for passing funny money. Black man later dies at the hospital. For the week since then there have been violent riots in the street across the nation. People killed. Looting; and property burned to the ground. Police violently assaulted. Police stations abandoned and torched. Much to the joy of the MSM everything is on video starting with the original arrest

Why do people think protests and violent riots are justified every time a black man is assaulted by a white man?

When a black cop assaults a white man there are no protests and riots. Why the difference?

There are bad cops of every color and we have a justice system for dealing with those problems.

When we protest and riot over everything we don’t like, rioting becomes normalized and worthless.

So if the protests and riots are not logical, why do it? To destroy the system. Once destroyed, the left will eagerly rebuild the system according to their goals; not those of our founders.

Were outsiders, Antifa, and anarchists responsible for the violence? MSM and politicians rush to blame these forces for escalating peaceful protests into riots. Maybe, but no proof is offered and we know they lie to the proletariat with abandon. So who is really responsible for the violence? Those who want to fundamentally transform America.

The rule of law is diluted with oppressive regulation and ignored by oligarchs and proletariat alike.

This will be the death of our nation.

Police State is here to stay

There are countless examples from the flu shutdown of police arresting people who have violated any of the arbitrary rules from local and state government.

You can walk on the beach but cannot sit down. You can walk on wet sand but you are not allowed to walk on dry sand. Huh? Break the rules and it’s off to jail. How can they force you to jail? They have guns! So sit on dry sand and be arrested at gunpoint!!!

Now they know they can control the behavior of the proletariat. Next they will use their new found power to enforce rules for climate change. Their ultimate tool to manage all forms of behavior.

The left has destroyed the rule of law.

They have stomped out the bill of rights

The flu is gone but ….

There is literally no more consequential signs of the flu pandemic. Must be the shortest “pandemic” in history

But the assault on personal liberties and the Bill of Rights not only continues but is worsening

US citizens being arrested at gunpoint for violating the “rules” of local bureaucrats by going to the gym.

Surgery now requires you submit to a virus test despite no new deaths and only minor cases

Church goers being arrested for going to church … could there be ANYTHING more repulsive?!

Abortions are a vital service, along with liquor stores and weed shops.

Thousands of healthy young convicts are released onto the street for their protection but the crimes from these criminals has caused a huge spike in the crime rate.

The death toll from the aftermath of the shutdown is now projected as being LARGER than the death toll from the flu. They are being called “depression deaths” caused by suicide, drug OD, domestic violence and economic collapse from massive unemployment and REAL poverty (almost 40 Million)

And the proletariate sit idly by, enchanted by the shadows on the cave wall

Like sheep to the slaughter

Goodby America, it was good while it lasted

The next liberty to fall

Under the guise of managing a ‘public health crisis’ the States will implement the most invasive monitoring of American citizens robing them of any illusion of personal privacy.

“Contact Tracing” of flu victims and anyone assumed to be at risk (all of us) will see:

1) medial record tracing (good by HIPPA)
2) mandatory testing
3) cell phone (GPS and bluetooth) tracking
4) credit card tracking
5) closed circuit tv tracking
6) tracking via mobile apps

welcome to 1984 and the era of big brother.
